"I any moment of decision, the best thing you can do is the right thing."
-Theodore Roosevelt

Reflection: I believe what Roosevelt means by this quote is that in the moment that a decision has to be made, there is always a more logical one, but it may not always be moral. The right decision is the one that is the best, causes little or no harm, and leaves no guilt. The right thing is the good decision on behalf of your conscious, Do not let the majority of the votes sway your moral. You have to make a final decision, make the right one.
LIFE PLANNING PROGRESS POST

I have checked of 65 goals out of 171. I continue to write more goals everyday and try to achieve as many as i can throughout the days. I very glad we made this assignment because it made me remember things i wanted to do and gave me the chance to reflect on the things i have achieved. I read my life planning goals almost everyday so that i can remember and have new ideas and plans everyday. This assignment was not really for the class but for ourselves, to give us a sense of direction and even just if we ever get bored and need ideas, we choose a goal and go out and do it. The more I cross off the more i write down and I think this life planning notebook is the greatest idea for people struggling in not knowing what to do.

"Make each day your masterpiece. You have to apply yourself each day to become a little better, and over a period of time you become a lot better."
- John Wooden

Reflection: I believe this quote means that if you ever want to get better at something or even be the best at it, you have to work the hardest you can every time you practice. Each day has to be the best day and with time you'll realize that the hard work has made you better and better. The more you push yourself, the more you master. It won't come right away, it depends on how much you really want it and strive to make each day, a masterpiece not only in the game, but in life.

Western Oregon vs.Central Washington Softball

This story began with a girl names Sara up at plate and she hit the ball outside of the field. She was ecstatic because this was her last chance, as a senior or ever, to get a home run. She had never made one before so she was looking forward to it. as she was running she tripped on the second base and severely hit her knee, causing damage and not allowing her to walk, let alone run, anymore. That moment, she had to crawl back to first base and her team mates were not allowed to touch her or help her in any way or else they would be out. This moment is when two players from the opposing team showed their great character and went up to Sara and asked if they could help her. The Umpire allowed it and so Mallory and Liz both carried Sara up and through all the bases, lowering her so her foot touches the bases and all the way to complete a home run. The people in the stadium were happy and crying at their brave move to help the opposing team. Sara's knee injury would no longer allow her to play Softball but she at least got her home run thanks to Central Washington's team work. I think this event really showed the good that can come out of things if people just gave up the enemy lines and worked with each other so everyone can have a chance at greatness. Mallory and Liz are definitely great characters up to all good and they were great examples to everyone that day.

Student Success Statement

"It's a great moment when someone has character to step up and do the right thing at the right time."
-Pam Knox

Reflection: I believe this quote means that you find happiness when you realize someone has the courage to stand up and do the right thing when necessary. It shows great character in someone who chooses the right even when everyone else is doing the wrong thing. If you see everyone littering and trashing places, you can show you have a bad character just like the rest and add on to the pollution but if you truly did have a great morale then you would help pick up the trash and make sure everyone else does the same. You helped clean the Earth, even if it was something small, and you created a great moment.

The 10 Indian Commandments

  1. Treat the Earth and all that  dwells therein with respect.
  2. Remain close to the Great Spirit.
  3. Show great respect to your fellow being.
  4. Work together for the benefit of all mankind.
  5. Give assistance and kindness wherever needed.
  6. Do what you know to be right.
  7. Look after the well-being of mind and body.
  8. Dedicate a share of your efforts to the greater good.
  9. Be truthful and honest at all times.
  10. Take full responsibilities for your actions.
Reflection: These ten commandments of the Indians make me realize that they are very loyal to their tribe. They believe in having a certain dignity among them as well as great kindness. These ten commandments are about being honest and good to yourself and more importantly, others. They admit to any of their mistakes and would most likely correct it. The Indians are very faithful to their spirit and their Earth and everyone in it. I believe everyone should be just as respectful to the Earth and other humans, animal, or insects as the Indians are, that way we build a better world for now and the future.

"A promise must never be broken."
-Alexander Hamilton

Reflection: This quote means to me that someone who trusts you with a secret or anything else and seals it with a promise is someone that expects you to keep your word. If you ever do break the promise then you will no longer be trust worthy. They might not even talk to you if it was an important promise. Records and objects can be broken but a promise should never be broken because it is a person trusting you, relying on your morale to not break it, while a broken object or record is often based of physical attributes. A promise will reflect who you are as a person and is not something you would want a bad reputation for.

"What you see is what you get." -Anonymous

Reflection: I believe this quote means that what you imagine something to be or what you see in your future is what you get. If you see yourself being dedicated and successful to your goals then that is what you will get. If you do nothing and see yourself going nowhere, then that is how you'll end up. How you see yourself and your future is what should motivate you to get there, preferably a successful career doing what you love.

"Goodness is the only investment that never fails."
-Henry David Thoreau

Reflection: I think this quote means that people who invest in doing good, always have made a good investment. When investing you expect to get something out of it and that's what happens when you invest in goodness, you will receive happiness and a sense of completion when helping others and around your community. Goodness is a lifetime investment that will make you a better person and live life a better way.

Student Success Statement

"My basic principle is that you don't make decisions because they are easy; you don't make them because they are cheap; you don't make them because they're popular; you make them because they're right."
-Theodore Hesburgh

Reflection: I think this quote means that when you make a decision you have to think morally and why the decision would be the right thing to do. For example, a person can be getting robbed and you can choose to walk away and avoid the chances of getting hurt, it would be the easy way out and won't cost you a thing; however the right thing to do would be help. You're conscious is telling you to help and you really should because you would want the help if that ever happened to you too. Making decisions shouldn't be so hard if you apply what you think is rightful.

Student Success Statement

"It is our duty to concentrate all out influence to make popular that which is sound and good, and to make popular that which is unsound (not good)"
 - Joseph Smith

Reflection: I think that this quote means that people must start popularizing good things like good grades and non smoking. The popularity at this time is to rebel and not attend school and smoke and drink, all these are not good and are unhealthy. This means that what we should start doing in making popular the good things, the healthy things like attendance at schools and anti-bullying, anti-drugs. Everyone should concentrate on making society better, not ruining with bad popular opinions.
Home Health Aide

Duties and responsibilities: Perform duties as required by the client, accompany clients to doctors and other places, administer their medication correctly etc.

Salary: $22,000- $26,000

Education: aides require no special education and sometimes don't even require a high school diploma; HHA's are trained by other HHA's and after 75 hours of training, they are provided with an exam and if passed gives them a certification needed to work in government funded homes.

Reflection: I think working as a home health aide would be a good job to launch off into the medical career later because it requires no schooling and provides you with the social skills and patience needed when working in a medical field. I would maybe like to try to work at this job seeing the experience it can give me.
