"I hated poverty. Poverty is more of a choice than anything else, and I can change that. It depends upon how hard I want to work, and I decided that I would change that."
                  -Dr. Ben Carson

Reflection: To me, this quote means that we have a choice in our life, to be poor or to work hard. Living in poverty is the choice of the person according to Carson, because how high up you climb that ladder to success all depends on the work your willing to give to get there.

"You can't be right by doing wrong; you can't be wrong by doing right."
-Thomas S. Monson

Reflection:This quote means to me that one who does the right thing will always be right. The wrong thing will never be right and the right will never be wrong. This system can change and so you must always choose the right and you will be right.

Winter Break
This winter break consisted mainly of reading books and catching up on sleep. I went out with friends a couple of times to hangout and go to stores and such. The main part of my vacation was books and i finished reading one of my all time favorite books, Eragon, which is about a young boy and his new found dragon friend who go on a quest to overthrow the evil king, Galbotrix. I also read The cider house rules by John Irving about a young boy living in an Orphanage. I read more books on behavioral psychology and another on profilers from real criminal cases.
Besides books, a new TV series i began to watch is Criminal Minds which is about an FBI team, who work through tough cases by analyzing the criminals behavior and almost getting inside their head in order to catch the unsub. It is rapidly becoming one of my new favorite shows to watch but it will never beat Doctor Who! My vacation was quite uneventful but i still loved it as it was a break from school.

"Intelligence plus character, That is the goal of true education."
-M.L. King Jr.

Reflection: What this quote by MLK Jr. means is that the main goal in giving and receiving an education is to not only build character but to gain intelligence and thus with both points hand in hand, you create a great person, multiply that, and you have a great world. Education helps build the greatest character in which intelligence is the key to it.
