Presidents Day

1.What is presidents day?
Presidents Day is a day used to honor our Presidents but it was originally to honor George Washington on his birthday (February 22)

2.What is the purpose of President's Day? 
The purpose of this day is to remember our presidents and honor their contributions to the country.

3.When is it?
On the third Monday of February (February 16 this year, 2015)

4.What are ways to show honor and respect on Presidents day?

Many people used to go to  church to celebrate and boy scouts and other patriotic communities would throw celebrations and reenactments on the day to remember the greatness of our 1st President

5.Anything else? 

This holiday first began in 1800 ,the following year of Washington's death, on the day of his birthday. Later they decided to combine the celebration of Lincoln's and Washington's birthday as a joined holiday in between the dates. By the 2000's every state joined in and declared the uniformed holiday of the 3rd Monday in February an official holiday.
