FINAL PART 2

A. What I liked about this class was that with the typing tutor I learned to type way faster and I don't even look at the keyboard. I always thought the typing was a waste of time but after I slowly realized that it was actually working I was amazed and felt accomplished in this course.

B. I think to improve this class we should do more ctr card checks because those are always fun (:

C. I did do my best in this class and tried to reflect on all the assignments as best as i could although i would always forget my life planning notebook

D. I am reading my life planning goals daily and constantly adding to them since I do have a lot of goals planned and its always satisfying to me when i cross a goal off my list.

E. I would like to be a CTR person and for the most part I am although sometimes I slip up when I don't filter what goes out of my mouth.

F. In order to take up my responsibility for body mind and spirit I will be more active during my free time, I will follow in what I believe in no matter who tells to do another or how many are opposite, and I will focus on my mental health and try to be more focused on my education and mind than other things.

IDP Project

The first day we began the Interdisciplinary Project was probably the most chaotic. We were put into groups which we could not choose, this left us with the worry of whether to trust the other members to do their part or not. It was not until a week later that the group actually began to discuss our topic,Hemophilia,
and work on it. Throughout the entire time, we never met outside of school which amazed me that we still got everything done. We first worked on the essay that had to go alongside the power point and presentation. I was honestly amazed at how well we worked together despite the amount of clowning around we did. In the end we each did our part and the day of the presentation was arriving. Our set time was at 5:45 and in Ms. Kopaititch's room. Maria and I were the first to arrive to the school from our group. After a few minutes the other 2  members arrived, Marisela and Santiago. We were worried when we found out our last member would be arriving at a later time. It was probably the nerves that had us worried as we were told we would be presenting in front of panelists and medical experts. Around 5:30, as promised, the final member arrived and we were ready. We added extra information, last minute, to our presentation but nothing we couldn't handle. We rehearsed a couple times and as 5:40 rolled around we were called up to our room. We entered and greeted and went through our presentation flawlessly, with only a few 'ums' to stop us. Then came the questions. I was hoping they wouldn't have any but i also wouldn't know if that was a good sign or a bad one, and so i waited. A nurse from the panel raised her hand and shot us question after question. I stepped up and answered most of them without hesitation even though i knew only a little information. They were satisfied with our answers and so they took our picture, we packed up, and we were off. I was only excited as we escaped the room that it was all finally over. We walked around for a while and saw a few presentations then went home. I never looked forward to the final idp project and showcase although everything was a success.

“When I do good, I feel good. When I do bad, I feel bad.”
-Abraham Lincoln

Reflection: After reading this quote I believe that Lincoln means that doing the right things makes you a good person and makes you feel like a good person. If you do all the wrong things you feel bad and you look bad to everyone else too. Do the right and you will feel good, do the wrong things and you’ll feel bad.

"Take responsibility for your own body, mind, and spirit, for your own physical, mental, and spiritual well-being."
- Mr. Haymore

What this quote means is that one must be responsible for their well-being in all aspects of their lives. This includes their body, making sure they're healthy and strong for all needs. Their mind, being mentally strong is far more important as it assures you'll get through the day and keep up with others academically and physically. Finally, being spiritually well keeps you well in faith and hope for your life and goals. All three general points of oneself should be kept strong and healthy.

"We need the courage to start and continue what we should do, and the courage to stop what we shouldn't do." -Richard L. Evans

Reflection: After reading this quote I believe that Evans saying it takes a lot to change our ways, especially ourselves and so he states we need the courage to make change. The courage is strength to do what is right and stop what is wrong. We start the good and it continues and as we do that, it stops what we shouldn't be doing, the wrong thing.

The Scorpion

The video told a story of a young boy, Patrick, who got stung by a scorpion. His parents always warned him to wear his shoes and beware of the creatures around the dessert likes snakes and such. But one day as he awoke from the camp, he decided to walk around for a bit. He did not want to go through the hassle of putting on his shoes as he had promised to himself he wouldn't go far from the camp anyways. He decided to put on his flip flops and set off on his walk. He didn't go far until he felt a thorn like prick at the bottom of his foot. Immense pain quickly shot up his leg and he tried to stop it from going any further by applying pressure, he screamed foe his parents and they rushed him to the car. Only problem was, the nearest hospital was two hours away and the entire drive there he felt  like he was dying. He believed it until he got to the hospital and the doctor assured him only malnourished and infants die from the sting of a scorpion. He injected and antibiotic and anesthetic to help with the pain. Patrick learned that day that 1) Flip flops are not shoes, and that 2) Never do the wrong thing. The right thing to do was to listen to his parents and put on his shoes, not flip flops, he the wrong thing and the consequence was painful. This was a very important message to never get lazy to do the right thing as it can affect you one way or another.

"Always do right."
-Mark Twain

This quote by Mark Twain means that a person must always do whats right no matter what circumstances. People choosing to go with the majority even if its wrong, doesn't make it right. What is wrong is wrong, what is right is right, and one must always choose the right.

When You Tell One Lie It Leads to Another

-Paul Hatch
When you tell one lie it leads to another
So you tell two lies to cover each other
Then you tell three lies and, Oh brother,
You're in trouble up to your ears!
So you tell four lies to try to protect you
Then you tell five lies so folks won't suspect you
Then you tell six lies and you'll collect
A life filled with worries and fears
'Cause you can't remember how many lies you've told
And half the things you say aren't true
And sometimes you'll slip up, you'll trip up
and then
whatever will become of you?

So you lie without even trying
and each lie you tell will keep multiplying
'Till the whole world will know
you're lying
Then you'll be
Suspected
Detected
Rejected
Neglected
Disliked
And you should!
When you lie, You're closing the door
 on everything good

"When you tell one lie it leads to another."
-Paul Hatch

Reflection: After reading this quote i think it means that as soon as you tell a lie you cannot stop. You have to keep the lies going to keep up with the other lies and you're in an endless cycle that you cannot escape because you do not want to tell the truth. The lies continue and no one will believe you which is why you shouldn't lie in the first place. Lying is not something you should have to continue and its better you stop before you even say one, it might lead to another.

-Lou Holtz

reflection: After reading this quote I believe that Holtz is asking us these questions because they are questions that reflect who we are or who you want to be no matter who you actually are. It is your actual response and your way of life. I answered yes to all three questions because I do believe I will not fail.

Student Success Statement
"Physical fitness is not only one of the most important keys to a healthy body, it is the basis of dynamic and creative intellectual activity. The relationship between the soundness of the body and the activities of the mind is subtle and complex. Much is not yet understood. But we do know what the Greeks knew: that intelligence and skill can only function at the peak of their capacity when the body is healthy and strong."
- President John F. Kennedy

Reflection: I think what Kennedy means by this quote is that if one has a healthy, strong body, then one has the intelligence capacity of all oneself can have. A healthy body will not distract you from your goals and it will not interfere with your thinking.Unlike having an unhealthy body that will distract you from your goals because you have to focus on your body more than your work. Having a healthy body will keep you sharp and help reach your maximum creativity and intellect level.
